Senior Manager, Public Relations and Communications

The Senior Manager, PR and Communications is a key member of NetEase Games North American Marketing team, this position reports to the Director of Marketing and is responsible for: 

  • Strategy development, planning and day-to-day management of NetEase Games North America (NA) PR and communications programs supporting our mobile game titles.
  • Manage and direct the PR agency of record/account team with accountability for the quality of output and results.
  • Work with producers to build a strong knowledge base of each game title's features, key unique selling points and understanding of the target audience.
  • Develop clear, concise and differentiated written materials including media alerts, press releases, key messages, pitches, presentations and social media content.
  • Liaise with NetEase Games HQ PR & Communications team.  You will coordinate and support media relations and communications for mobile games that are published in English speaking countries directly from our China HQ.  Responsibilities include draft press release review, recommendations, media targets, media pitching and general consultation.   
  • Manage NetEase North America’s corporate social media communications and corporate website news/press content sections.
  • Develop strong relationships with key media and games business journalist in North America and in Tier 1 territories where our games will be published.
  • Collaborate with Player Engagement team to curate top quality creators from the game communities.
  • Events: PR strategy and media engagement plans for offline trade and consumer event activations.

Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of PR experience, preferably in a video games, mobile app or entertainment company.
  • Active player of ideo games with interest in mid-core/hardcore genre including: MMO, MMORPG, Action RPG and Strategy titles.
  • Articulate, clear verbal communication skills. Strong writing ability with samples to demonstrate your awesome creative skills!
  • Goal driven with excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Experience managing agency relationships, drawing out their strengths and maximizing their performance.    
  • Experience working with C-level executives across regions and territories.
  • Tenacious and creative thinker that delivers results in an ever changing mobile games PR landscape.  Driving ambition to reach our players in traditional and non-traditional channels.
  • Team player with a great attitude and lots of positive energy to help us build our game brands in North America and beyond.
  • Media contacts relevant to the video game/mobile game industries.
  • Experience managing others preferred but not required.
