Systems Designer (Team 1)

Are you bored at your job and want a new challenge?  Do you like to play video games?  This is a chance for you to be on the ground floor of an up and coming Video Game company.  You will have the stability of a large company and the agility of a start-up.  NetEase (NASDAQ:  NTES,) based in China, is a technology company with more than $10 billion market cap.  You will be part of the new North American division that will be adapting and marketing a rich pipeline of games.  

As a Systems Designer, you will work closely with the Design team, the user experience team and the engineering team creating features and back end data structures for game balance and economy.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and build upon NetEase's mobile games' visual identity and sensibilities
  • Collaborate with other designers in an iterative design environment
  • Help to drive design for existing and new games
  • Design and develop game features, managing ownership through implementation
  • Create and maintain data structures for gameplay and economy balance
  • Work in both a development and a live-ops atmosphere, using iterative design combined with user feedback and analytics.
  • Create design that can be consistent across multiple platforms and devices
  • Creative problem solving for game features and game balance needs
  • Iterate using feedback to polish features to an optimal efficiency and aesthetics
  • Make independent creative decisions and work with a team to execute

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience in game design
  • Experience shipping Mobile games
  • Strong understanding of Excel, particularly in regards to formula driven data
  • Skills in Word and Excel, must be highly skilled in Excel
  • Ablility to see impact of changes across the entire game
  • Able to work well with a team in cross-discipline, cross-culture and iterative setting
  • Understanding of Data Driven Design
  • Understands technical implementations and limitations
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Passion for video games, and user interface design

Plusses

  • 3+ years’ experience working in mobile game design
  • Proficient in reading Mandarin Chinese
